Please review these scenarios carefully and pay close attention to the issues outlined for each of the scenarios that are addressed in this Patch. Each of these must be considered very carefully keeping in mind your environment. While we evaluate every issue on an individual customer basis, the hard time constraint of the March 11th change for Daylight Saving Time means that there will be no further updates to the Outlook tool before the time change occurs. Time Zone Data Update Tool For Microsoft Office Outlook Mac
I am the sole user of my laptop (with admin rights) which is running Vista Business (32-bit) and Outlook 2007.I travel a lot and regularly move time zones.I want all-day events in Outlook Calendar (like Birthdays and Anniversaries) to remain ‘stuck’ to the date, not to a 24-hour period starting at midnight in whichever time zone I was when I created the appointment.I plan to try the Outlook Time Zone Data Update tool to move all such events (which otherwise get spread across two days) to each new time zone, each time I relocate.I have tried to work my way through the KB article 931667 (really, I have!) but I just can’t follow it.I’d appreciate a simple walk-through of what I need to do to move my all-day appointments to match the new time zone, which (as far as I know) in my case, does not involve issues with the USA or certain US states/counties changing their DST ‘rules’, nor does it involve Exchange Server nor shared calendars (since I don’t use either) and I only wish to apply this to the (single) Calendar in my Personal Folders. Also, how can I ensure that the earlier updates for DST changes have actually been made on my system, as recommended by the installation instructions for the Outlook Time Zone Data Update tool?I do usually apply all Windows and Office updates as they are issued but would prefer to be sure, before starting the installation of the Outlook Time Zone Data Update tool. Thanks in advance.
