The more traditional recommendation is FontSquirrel, which is a curated database of high-quality fonts that are free for both personal AND commercial use. The site layout is clean, intuitive, and categorized in such a way that browsing is a breeze. When searching for free fonts, I always start here.

    I've been using FFonts.net for quite a while now. They have a large pool of free fonts in addition to ones for purchase. With the a free account, you can download 50 fonts per day. However, I broke down and subscribed ($29/year) in order to get 14,000 free fonts—some people are addicted to booze, crack, sex, etc., I'm addicted to fonts. With the subscription, your daily font limit is increased to 200. Are there 73000 unique fonts in existence?!?

    Definitely going to try these font managers! Nexus Fonts sounds pretty handy.
