I'm on a PC. I protected my worksheet, except I left a few cells open to edit via the 'Allow users to edit Ranges' button. When I send this spreadsheet to others.. the PC users can edit those few designated cells (good), but the mac users can't (bad). It's like the Mac version of excel is locking the entire sheet without regard to the few cells I said to leave editable.
To make matters worse, if the mac user opens the spreadsheet in Apple Numbers, nothing is locked at all..
One of my mac users is on version Mac Excel 14.6.0. When I help him unlock the sheet, you can see there's no button to specify which cells should be editable. That makes me think the mac version of excel doesn't have this feature..? I'd show you a screenshot but I don't see where I can attach a picture to this thread?
Is this a known issue? What can I do about it?
